Frequently Asked Questions
If you have any qustions about Giving Week or would like to submit your interest to be a part of this national movement, drop us a note!
Is my donation tax deductible? +-
A: A charity that has IPC status will be indicated accordingly. Some IPCs have specified a minimum donation amount for tax deduction. These details are available on Giving.sg.
When donating to an IPC, ensure that the option to request for tax deduction is selected and provide the necessary details (i.e. Name as per NRIC & NRIC) in order to receive tax deduction.
The donation details will be provided directly to Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) by the approved IPC and the donation deductions will be included automatically in your individual tax assessment, or where applicable, your corporate tax assessment.
There will be no physical receipt issued by Giving.sg or the Charity. You may keep the email donation acknowledgment as reference for your donation.
Who can be involved? +-
A: Anyone…and that includes you!
We would like to start our own project. What can we do? +-
A: Giving.sg has a unique volunteer matching platform that creates happy matches between volunteers and organisations, with the benefit of an existing and enthusiastic volunteer base. If you are organising an event that requires volunteers, you can raise a volunteer campaign on Giving.sg . If you do not have an account on Giving.sg, you can sign up for an account before creating your campaign.
You can do the same if you are doing a fundraising event during this week. Simply raise a fundraising campaign and you are ready to go! Remember a tip: Set realistic goals!

How can we be involved? +-
A: As an individual, you can participate in the giving activities at the festival. Alternatively, if you wish to raise funds for a cause, you can plan a charitable event and we’ll include it in our Festival line-up! If you can’t make it for the festival events, you may support the campaigns by donating to your favourite cause!
If you’re a non-profit, you can identify the areas where you need help in, be it in terms of manpower or money. For instance, if you are doing a major charity event end of this year and require lots of manpower, you can use this week as a way to recruit new volunteers and to engage your existing ones!
Corporates on the other hand can think about a cause that they are interested in, or a charity that they want to adopt. During this week, corporates can organise a company-wide initiative to encourage staff to volunteer, or involve the public through a fundraising event.
